Instead, I'll say I'm glad those of you listening are survivors. I'm grateful to have made it through to this point.  I'm excited to share this episode at this time because the interview touches are many crucial topics, some that I've discussed from my own point of view in previous episodes. Today you'll hear from a Black disabled pastor about what his experience in American society is like. Let's jump right in! [Mandi voices Ad (ads change and will vary)] [Doorbell Sound Effect]

Last time we spoke, I told you about the relationship, or lack of relationship, I had with my father. Approximately 2 weeks before COVID-19 forced the world to shut down, my father died. I heard his last few days alive in the hospital weren't pretty. He couldn't speak or really recognize people. In the end, he was on life-support and his family made the difficult decision of letting him go.  After a week of

I'll be honest, I don't have a ton of listeners yet. I have some loyal fans that I appreciate dearly, but my purpose was never fame. I'm interviewing Kyle and Valerie Palma from Big Kyle's Little Truffles. This interview is extra special to me for a few reasons. First, I've had the honor of getting to know Kyle and his family for 6 years through my work at KEEN New York. Second, Kyle's motivational story encourages me to continue the work I'm doing in sharing my story of finding my Beautiful. Lastly, Kyle is pushing aside stigmas and breaking down barriers, which will make you want to pursue your passions. Now, I'll insert my disclaimer that my lit

But I would be remiss to let February pass without recognizing and honoring Black History Month.  I'll be honest, I debated a lot about creating an episode about this. Obviously it's not because I don't think we should recognize it, but because I think honoring Black and African American people should be a normal thing and it feels off to l
