Yet, every pastor, priest and clergymen, or woman, is doing this exact thing to help their congregants apply these very old principles to today. In fact, most of church is all about interpreting the bible. What ends up ha

S5, Ep. 4: It's All Good

Mandi shares a mind-blowing revelation about biblical celibacy that helped her see how God affirms marriage and sex.  Find Me Online: Website Facebook Instagram Transcript Mandi : Mandi A. here welcoming you to my podcast - Find Your Beautiful: Life Through the Eyes of a Christian Disabled Woman.   [Upbeat Background Music] Mandi : I hope you were able to listen to last week's episode. If you haven't, I strongly encourage you to hit pause here, go listen, and then come back. As a quick summary, I touched on the fact that Eve, the first woman God created, was a suitable partner for Adam because of the things they had in common, not because of their gender and anatomical differences. I also highlighted the fact that what God says is not good in creation is that the man is alone. He does not say the man needs a sexual partner, but instead a partner, companionship from a being who shares his likeness. Practically speaking, Eve had to be a woman and had to have the ability to birth

S5, Ep. 3: The Call

It is impossible for non-affirming Christians to maintain the traditional interpretation of Scripture regarding same-sex relationships without modifying the biblical interpretation of celibacy. In this episode, Mandi explains the conflict. Find Me Online: Website Facebook Instagram Transcript Mandi : Mandi A. here welcoming you to my podcast - Find Your Beautiful: Life Through the Eyes of a Christian Disabled Woman.   [Upbeat Background Music] Mandi : In the last 2 episodes we talked about why I agree with the notion that we have been misinterpreting what the bible says about same-sex relationships. The first point I made is that Jesus teaches that good trees produce good fruit. The fruit that has resulted from the teachings about same-sex relationships haven't been good as evidenced by the mental health crisis many members of the LGBTQIA* community face due to rejection, isolation and outright hate crimes. Second, the concept of sexual orientation did not exist during bible times.

S5, Ep. 2: It's NOT Ancient History

Is there evidence to support a need to reinterpret Scripture in regards to same-sex relationships? In this episode, Mandi shares her thoughts on this. In these particular verses, Jesus is warning against false prophets. In verse 16, he says, "By their fruit, you will recognize them." A summary, or paraphrase, of the following verses tells us that a good tree cannot not bear bad fruit and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. I believe a fair interpretation of this concept is that good teachings will lead to good outcomes, while bad teachings will lead to bad outcomes. With this in mind, we must consider if the traditional teachings about same-sex relat

S5, Ep. 1: A Whole New World

Unwilling to give up her commitment to Christ and learning that His love is more inclusive that traditional interpretations give Him credit for, Mandi introduces the ideas behind the traditional view of evangelical view of homosexuality and opens the door to reconsidering the Scriptures. I left you all with 2.5 episodes in season 4 and then totally abandoned this space. Trust me, recording has been on my heart and mind countless times over the last few years, but every time I planned to come here, I was overwhelmed. My story was moving so fast in my life and the changes took so much mental and emotional resources. I had no idea how to put everything on paper or organize thoughts to record. There are
